Will it be a case of Pep Guardiola in and Yaya Toure out for Man City?

The Manchester City fans have every reason to be optimistic for the future. The arrival of Spanish manager Pep Guardiola this summer will certainly move the club amongst the elite clubs in Europe. With the imminent arrival of the highly reputable Guardiola, one the biggest certainties must be that Yaya Toure will almost certainly not be at the Etihad come next season. The last eighteen months has slowly seen the decline of Ivory Coast international and with Guardiola coming in it looks like déjà vu will happen again. Six years ago the same situation occurred at Barcelona, Guardiola in and Yaya departed for Manchester City for a fee around 20 million.

The signing of Yaya Toure for Manchester City has seen him develop into one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League era. This season has been a tough season for Toure, he does not look the same player that has graced the league for the last five seasons, he looks lazy and almost demotivated, and so a move elsewhere would benefit not only Toure but Manchester City. The recent substitutions has shown that Toure is not untouchable and Pellegrini is not afraid to withdraw one of his top players when he is not playing well, and it is safe to say that he is not playing well.

The interesting position Guardiola faces now is who he would bring in to replace the fans favourite and the type of player might surprise the Manchester City fans. Comfortable in possession, hard graft and intelligence on the pitch is the traits shown in the previous centre midfielders Pep Guardiola has worked with at his previous clubs. Will names like Marco Verratti, Paul Pogba and Thiago be the standard that Guardiola would be looking at to bring to the Premier League? The possibilities of replacing such an iconic figure at the Etihad club will be a daunting task for whoever arrives at the club, as they will have big shoes to fill. The current group of players at Manchester City will all clearly be looking at their own futures with the possibility that Guardiola may decide to move them on.

What will the future hold for Yaya Toure? Reports in Manchester say that he could be reunited with former manager Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan. This would be considered a move that may have to wait provided Mancini is in the position he is next season in charge of the Milan club. China looks like it could be the most likely destination with reports claiming that a move to Jiangsu Suning could make him the third highest paid footballer in the world. Money talks and with the money clubs in China are paying the players it looks like a move would benefit both Toure and Manchester financially.

The arrival of Guardiola will bring much speculation of the arrivals and departures at Manchester City, however the departure of Yaya Toure looks to be a certain move made by the player and agent.
